Globoplay tries to make Globosat live content available

Since last week, Globoplay -the Brazilian’s Globo Group OTT- is offering to selected clients access to 19 channels from the pay TV operator Globosat, also belonging to the previous mentioned group. Through an email, Globoplay subscribers who are elected are notified, that the initiative is part of  a test, valid until July 10th.

‘We invite you to try a new stage of the TV experience through the internet. The test will only be accessible through a web or mobile browser, and is not available for general use’, explained the company, which also reported that, to access to the Globosat programming by streaming, customers must register themselves with their username they use at the Globo’s news website.

Named ‘Globolive’, the Globo Group aims to unify the largest collection of audiovisual content in Portuguese on a single platform, including Globosat, Globoplay and the group’s TV contents However, to implement the new offer, Globo must await the National Telecommunications Agency’s (Anatel) verdict about the Seac Law (No. 12,485, of 2011), which bans a pay TV producer to commercialize its linear offerings without a TV operator as an intermediary.
