Fox completes AVOD OTT Tubi’s acquisition

Fox announced that it completed the acquisition of the AVOD OTT Tubi, announced in March. That time, the company reported that the transaction was valued at USD 490 million, of which USD 440 million would be paid in cash, and the remaining USD 500 million in deferred consideration, which may be delivered in the next three years.  Last January, Tubi had made its official arrival at Mexico through a partnership agreement with TV Azteca.

‘Fox Corporation announces that it has completed the acquisition of Tubi Inc. The closing of the transaction took place with all its terms satisfied’, the company reported in an official statement. Currently, Tubi’s catalog gathers 20 thousand titles and more than 56 thousand hours of content, and is available on more than 25 digital platforms in the US.

The OTT has also started an  international expansion process, and was recently launched in the UK and Mexico, where it arrived in partnership with TV Azteca earlier this year. In addition to the US, UK and Mexico, Tubi is also available in Canada and Australia, and works with more than 250 content producers, including Warner Bros., Paramount and Lionsgate.
