ETB’s FTTH clients can now access DirecTV GO’s catalog

Colombian telecommunications company ETB (Empresa de Telecomunicaciones de Bogota) and DirecTV announced this last Tuesday, February 10th, a new partnership that will allow ETB’s FTTH customers to add DirecTV GO’s catalog to their plan. As reported by the Colombian company, the aim of the partnership is to offer its clients a more diversified portfolio to meet the demand for audiovisual consumption during the pandemic period.

Under the terms of the agreement, ETB’s FTTH clients who add DirecTV GO to their plan will be able to access 90 live TV channels and more than 10 thousand titles, including on demand series and movies, with a 25% discount in the subscription during the first year. The monthly value that must be paid to access the offer is COL $ 44,990 (USD 12.5), and will be available on ETB’s monthly invoice. In addition, also as part of the agreement, ETB will offer DirecTV clients a special plan to acquire the company’s FTTH services.

‘Thanks to the fact that ETB already offers the highest speeds -up to 500 megabytes-, the partnership features the fastest connectivity in the market, with premium content and live TV. This way, it will be the user who chooses the best entertainment experience thanks to a diversified portfolio, at a time when much of the entertainment offers have migrated to households. Thus, according to the most recent traffic report made by the Colombian Communications Regulatory Commission (CRC), in general terms, the time with the highest consumption remains between 6:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. Therefore, despite working habits and academic activities, the maximum activity period of the network remains in the prime time of entertainment’, stated Sergio Gonzalez, President at ETB.

Efrain Martinez Monroy, Infrastructure VP at ETB, is one of the confirmed speakers for the coming Nextv Andean event, whose first edition will be held virtually on April 21st and 22nd, organized by Dataxis.
