The Mediapro Studio Colombia and Argentina announced it has started filming ‘Siempre fui yo’, a new Disney+ original production made in Latin America and lasting ten 40-minute episodes, which is scheduled to be released by the end of 2021. The series will be starred by Mexican actress and singer Karol Sevilla, Colombian singer Pipe Bueno and Colombian-Mexican actor Christian Tappan.
According to the information reported, ‘Siempre fui yo’ follows the adventures of Lupe (Karol Sevilla), a Mexican girl whose life takes an unexpected turn when she learns of the death of her father, El Faraon (Christian Tappan) –the top star Colombian musical- and decides to leave his native Mexico behind to travel to Cartagena and attend the funeral. Later, she realizes that nothing is what it seems there and she decides to enter a musical band to be close to her father’s environment, and investigate her suspicious death. Together with Noah (Pipe Bueno), a young former assistant of her father, Lupe faces a mission full of danger, love and lots of music to unravel this mystery. The recordings of the new production will run until May in real locations in Bogota, Cartagena and others, and on Baru beach.
Bob Chapeck, CEO at The Walt Disney Company, announced on March 9th that Disney+, the company’s new SVOD OTT, recently launched in Latin America, now features more than 100 million subscribers globally, after 16 months of its original launch, in November 2019. Up to now, no official information about subscribers to the platform in Latin America have been reported.
