Disney develops Disney+ distribution strategy with different partners in Latin America

After officially announcing Disney+ pre-sale offer, available in several Latin American countries between November 3rd and 16th, Disney started to report a series of distribution agreements for its new SVOD OTT with several partners in the region .

Some of the partners with whom Disney has already started negotiations are Telecom Argentina (for which it will offer Disney+ for Cablevision, Personal and Flow customers); Izzi (Televisa); America Movil (Telmex); Mercado Libre in Mexico and Brazil; Globo (Globoplay); Telefonica Brasil (Vivo); Bradesco; Tim Brazil; and Visa for several countries in the region (including Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, the Dominican Republic and Uruguay). Most of the offers focus on discounts on the Disney+ monthly subscription, free trials and  integrations of different offers together with the Disney platform. Likewise, days ago, Samsung announced that, as of November 17th, the scheduled date for the official launch of the OTT in Latin America, the platform will be available on the company’s smart TVs in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Panama. and Peru.

As officially reported from Disney this last Friday, November 6th, after the official launch of Disney+ in the US, on November 12th, 2019, the SVOD OTT recorded, in its first nine months in the market,  more than 60.5 million subscribers in North America, Europe , Asia and Oceania. In addition, they stated that the launch of the platform in Latin America on November 17th ‘consolidates its global expansion, bringing innovative, creative and high quality stories to all audiences in the region’.
