DirecTV announced today that it will not charge the Football Pack to its clients from April, until the Superliga Argentina, name of the current professional football competition in the country, resumes. The competition is temporarily canceled due to the compulsory quarantine imposed by the Government to stop the advance of Covid-19 (Coronavirus). Win Sports+, Win Sports’ new premium option, took a similar measure in Colombia.
As DirecTV officially reported, its clients will be able to view the detail of the premium pack bonus on the May invoice, which will be subtracted from what was invoiced before the decision to extend the quarantine in the country and, with it , the cancellation of local football. However, the DTH subscribers will be able to continue enjoying Fox Sports Premium and TNT Sports programming, the official football channels in Argentina, which makes the Football Pack.
Another of the measures announced today by DirecTV is focused on extending the release of up to 91 channels in its programming grid until April 15th inclusive, also due to the extension of the quarantine. In addition, and with the aim of continuing teaching and learning of children and in order to help with the educational content distribution during the health emergency, DirecTV released the ‘Escuela Plus’ channel (channel 804) until April 17th inclusive.
