DirecTV has announced this last Wednesday that its SVOD OTT DirecTV GO, available in several Latin American countries, will offer those who subscribe to the platform the possibility of accessing HBO Max for free for two years starting on June 29th, date on which WarnerMedia (AT&T and Discovery) announced the official arrival of the platform in Latin America. In addition, DirecTV customers who have hired a pay TV plan and the HBO Pack will also be able to enjoy HBO Max content at no additional cost. Apart from that, DirecTV GO will broadcast the Copa America 2021 and UEFA Euro 2020, during June and July.

Access to HBO Max for two years for free and coverage of the most important sports leagues are a further step in our goal of being the gateway to the best content, combining live programming, coverage of major sporting events and the on demand world’, reported Michael Bowling, President at DirecTV Latin America. ‘Today, users have multiple offers and devices available, and our aim is to facilitate access, and give them freedom and autonomy, so that they can choose’, he added.
DirecTV has also confirmed that DirecTV GO will broadcast matches from the Conmebol Copa America 2021 and UEFA Euro 2020 as part of its content portfolio. According to the information reported, DirecTV GO will broadcast the 28 matches of the Copa América, which will be played between June 13th and July 10th; and the 51 matches of the UEFA Euro 2020, which will take place between June 11th and July 11th. Coverage of both football competitions will be available to DirecTV GO’s clients in Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Uruguay. In addition, the platform will also include exclusive original programming.
