DAZN launches new sports club Flamengo series in Brazil

After announcing the launch of its first global original series, the sports OTT DAZN launched this Tuesday, September 24th Sem Filtro: Flamengo, new DAZN Originals series in Brazil, the first Latin American country in which it arrived, in May this year. The project is directed by Flavio Barone, and produced in partnership with Conspiração and the Flamengo sports club. It will last seven episodes.

“Sem Filtro: Flamengo’ is the new DAZN Originals project produced in Brazil. The initiative is also the first of Flamengo in this type of productions. This strengthens our challenge of showing the club’s backstage from a different point of view. The series brings a new perspective, highlighting all those who help to build the history of one of the most important football clubs worldwide’, said Sérgio Floris, Rights and Original Content Vice President at DAZN. 

As reported by the Brazilian media Maquina do Esporte, the first episode will focus on Flamengo’s Round of 16 and Quarters qualifiers at the Copa Libertadores, against Emelec (Ecuador) and Inter (Porto Alegre) respectively. The episodes will also feature people working in the campaign that the Brazilian football club is doing this half of the year, both in the Copa Libertadores and the Brazilian Championship.

‘We managed to gather very interesting elements for this production. The short format makes a lot of sense for this product and seems to be one of the next global trends in the audiovisual market. And, of course, Flamengo is a football referent. We can talk about local content from Brazil to the world’, said Luisa Barbosa, Executive Producer at Conspiração.
