CuriosityStream expands to Latin America through Totalplay

Totalplay, a Grupo Salinas company and leader in the Mexican telecommunications market, announced it will add the CuriosityStream platform, launched by John Hendricks, founder of Discovery Channel, to its content catalog in the country. The OTT offer includes on of the most complete non-fiction entertainment collection, with films and series on science, history, technology, nature, society and lifestyle.

Hugo Adrian Hernandez, Content Acquisition and Programming Director at Totalplay, has also expressed himself on the partnership and said that ‘as part of our permanent strategy to innovate in order to consolidate ourselves as the best entertainment option, we are very happy to run this agreement with CuriosityStream, which will makes us being able to further expand our quality content offer, exclusive and unique for Mexico’.

The launch agreement for CuriosityStream was achieved by content distribution company Simma Media. OTT’s programming in Latin America will include several series and documentaries, such as Breakthrough, Speed, Ancient Earth, History of Food, Stephen Hawking’s Favorite Places, Debugged and Classic Cars. The platform is available worldwide on TVs, computers, tablets and mobile devices.
