The National Telecommunications Commission (Conatel) of Venezuela is holding meetings with pay TV companies to monitor and evaluate the service they provide at the national level.
The regulator said on its website that CANTV has already attended its meeting, as well as executives of SuperCable, while Intercable was called for next week.
In the case of SuperCable, the operator was invited by the agency to explain the reasons of the technical failure that interrupted last Saturday the transmissions of State-owned channel Venezolana de Televisión.
Another point to be discussed was the increase in prices made by SuperCable, which has generated an increase in the number of complaints received by the regulator.
In this sense, Ronald Rodríguez, president of the Venezuelan Subscription Television Chamber (Cavetesu), said that the sector works with the resources it has at its disposal to offer the best quality service, reported local site El Mundo.
The executive also stressed that without access to foreign exchange it is very difficult to replace the equipment damaged or stolen, as they are imported.
