US company CNN (WarnerMedia, AT&T) has officially announced this last Monday, July 19th the launch of its new SVOD OTT, which will be called ‘CNN +’ and will be launched in Q1 2022. Up to now, the company has not confirmed the arrival date of the platform to Latin America, but it did report that the platform will be initially launched in the US, and then internationally.
According to the information reported, the platform will coexist with the cable channels CNN, CNN Internacional, CNN en Español and the news and real crimes channel HLN, and will gather between eight and twelve hours of live content per day. In addition, the CNN+ catalog will bring together content from CNN’s library, as well as new original series and films, especially developed for the platform. The company has not made announcements regarding the subscription plans for the service.

The announcement of the new CNN+ takes place after, in June, Discovery Inc. announced that the new company resulting from the merger between its assets and those of WarnerMedia will be called ‘Warner Bros Discovery’, which will bring together content from HBO, Warner Bros., Discovery, DC, CNN, WB Games, Turner Sports, Cartoon Network, HGTV, Food Network, TNT, TBS, Turner Classic Movies, Wizarding World, Adult Swim, Eurosport, Magnolia, TLC, Animal Planet , ID, and others
