Telecommunications company Claro (America Movil) has recently announced the launch of a new Android TV STB in Colombia. According to the information officially reported by the company, the offer has been available in Bogota since last May 3rd, and will be launched in other cities of the country soon.
‘As pay TV service leaders in Colombia, we are now making this new entertainment system, powered by Android TV, available to our customers, which allows them to enjoy all the entertainment and technology in a single device’, reported Rodrigo de Gusmao, Executive Director of Claro Colombia’s Mass Market Unit. ‘It is an innovative solution that will allow us to revolutionize the way we watch TV, in order to always continue to offer unique, simple and reliable experiences’, the executive added.
As reported from Claro Colombia, the company’s new offer includes access to live TV channels, as well as the possibility of accessing apps such as YouTube, and even downloading applications directly from Google Play, and accessing them from Claro’s STB. The Android TV system also provides content recommendations; and it allows to catch up with the programming grid’s titles aired on up to the last 24 hours, as well as to record up to 400 hours or to schedule a TV content to watch it up to seven days after its original broadcast. Claro’s new offer also allows its customers to use Google Assistant via remote control, this way featuring an easier experience with the product.
