According to what several specialized websites in Brazil have reported, Claro Box TV, a new STB recently launched by the country’s pay TV operator Claro (America Movil) has lost 14 of the channels that were part of its catalog. The news took place shortly after the company had officially launched the STB, after a soft launch in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo, during the last months of 2020.
The channels that are no longer available as part of Claro Box TV’s offer are TV Gazeta, Mega, Rede Gospel, Polishop, Shoptime, Terra Viva, Novo Tempo, Canal Rural, Rede Vida, Canção Nova, TV Aparecida, Boa Vontade, Rit and Rede 21.
The Claro Box TV initial packages are available for a R$ 20 (USD 3.7) monthly subscription. The STB has recently added the Globoplay (Globo Group) app as part of its offer and, during the first days of the year, it also added the Globo channels, which were not initially available.
In addition to TV channels and the Globoplay app, the STB has other pre-installed apps, which allow access to other OTTs. Some of them are Netflix, HBO, Telecine, Starzplay, Paramount+, NOW, Claro Video, Claro Musica and others, in addition to 50 thousand on demand contents.
