Claro Box TV adds Globoplay’s app to its catalog in Brazil

According to the information reported by several specialized websites in Brazil, ‘Claro Box TV, new STB recently launched by Brazilian telecommunications company Claro (America Movil), has added Globoplay’s app, Grupo Globo’s SVOD OTT, as part of its catalog. With the news, Claro’s clients who acquire the STB will be able to access Globo’s on-demand content in 4K resolution, as well as other pay TV channels and other OTTs already integrated into its content offering.

To access the Globoplay catalog from Claro Box TV, it is necessary to have an active Globoplay subscription. Likewise, in addition to Globo’s SVOD OTT, Claro’s STB, recently launched after an initial soft launch in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, features other apps, including the one from Netflix, HBO, Telecine, Starzplay, Paramount+, NOW, Claro Video, Claro Musica and others, together with 50 thousand on demand content and more than 140 live TV channels. At the beginning of this year, Claro Box TV announced that it finally came to terms with Globo to add its channels to its new STB since, at first, it had not included them in its lineup. Claro Box TV’s initial packages are available for a R$ 20 (USD 3.6) monthly subscription.

‘With Globoplay’s app, the Claro Box TV offer is even more complete and strengthens itself as a simple and personalized option for customers to access the content they want to watch’, reported Ricardo Falcão, Claro Brazil’s Regional Director of Operations.

From Grupo Globo they have also expressed themselves on the initiative through Erick Bretas, Director of the company. ‘Globo and Claro have been working together for years to bring quality content to millions of households throughout Brazil. We are always following new consumer habits’, said the executive, and later added that ‘adding Globoplay’s content as part of the Claro Box TV catalog is one more step to give consumers the freedom to choose the content they want to watch , whenever they want to’.
