Brazilian pay TV operator Claro (America Movil) has announced this week that it has added the SVOD OTT Box Brazil Play, a marketplace aimed at showcasing Brazilian audiovisual content, officially launched on January 4th by the Box Brazil programmer (Grupo Box Brazil), as part of its OTT, Now. To access its catalog, Claro’s platform subscribers must pay a R$ 14.90 (USD 3) monthly subscription.
‘We are very proud about this new partnership that we have run with Claro. ‘Now’ is the main window for VOD content in Brazil, and being part of it is a key achievement for us’, reported Jose Wilson Fonseca, VP at the Box Brazil Group.
The Box Brazil Play catalog is focused on TV channels and VOD contents of original titles made in Brazil, available in different formats, such as short films, feature films, series, documentaries, shows, sports, children’s content and others. . The development of the new OTT was in charge of Container, a Box Group company specialized in the development of OTT platforms for third parties.
As reported from the Box Brazil Group on the official launch date of Box Brazil Play, the platform brings together more than 1,5 thousand VOD content and more than 20 Brazilian TV channels, including Prime Box Brazil; Music Box Brazil; Travel Box Brazil; Fashion TV Brazil; CNN Brazil; COM Brasil, and others. In addition, it has run partnerships with more than 80 Brazilian content production companies.
The specialized website Telaviva reported that the Box Brazil Play catalog brings together several attractions, including feature films such as ‘Nois por Nois’; documentaries such as “Livre para Volar” and ‘Alice Júnior’, with positive repercussion in at various festivals; ‘Moda sem Medida’, a documentary focused on fashion for overweight women in Brazil; and the films ‘António Um Dois Três’ and ‘Ele era assim – Art Barroso’, whose plot focuses on the Brazilian composer’s biography, among other available titles.
