Mexican company Cinepolis has officially announced this last Monday, November 23rd, that its TVOD OTT, called ‘Cinepolis Klic’, is expanding its content offering. After having announced its expansion to Chile and having integrated Claro Sports into its offer, the platform will also include, from now on, Starzplay (Lionsgate) titles, which was recently launched in Argentina and Chile.
As officially reported by Cinepolis, the Starzplay catalog will be available to its prepaid users for MX$ 99 (USD 5), or by activating the recurring charge option, for MX $ 89 (USD 4), which includes a seven-day free trial . Some of the titles that are part of the Starzplay content offer are series like ‘Gangs of London’, whose new episodes will be available every Sunday through Cinepolis Klic; Starz’s Original ‘Power Book II: Ghost’, which will premiere the second part of the first season on Sunday, December 6th; the documentary-series ‘Seduced: inside the NXIVM cult’; and Emmy Award-nominated series such as ‘Normal People’ and ‘The Great’.
‘Satisfying our audiences is a priority for us. We are always looking for new content alternatives, and we pride ourselves on having a variety of options for all tastes. The partnership between Cinepolis Klic and Starzplay means that we will be able to provide more high-quality entertainment’, said Marco Garcia de la Cruz, Managing Director at Cinepolis Klic.
From Starz they have also expressed themselves on the agreement through Superna Kalle, EVP of the company’s International Digital Channels. ‘Launching the Starzplay streaming service in partnership with Cinepolis Klic is a great opportunity to strengthen our presence in Mexico, through a reliable and quality platform. In addition, it gives viewers a fantastic opportunity to access the premium content that Starzplay offers’, she said.
On Tuesday, December 1st and Wednesday, December 2nd, Dataxis will be running a new edition of Nextv Series Mexico, this time virtually. Registration can be done by clicking on the conference website.
