Cine Colombia takes films to Colombian households with Cineco Plus

The Colombian cinema distribution company Cine Colombia officially launched  Cineco Plus, its new OTT, which can be accessed since last Thursday, June 4th. The platform emerged as an alternative to bring Cine Colombia’s films and documentaries catalog to Colombian households because of movie theatres closure due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

“Innovative, pleasant and easy to navigate, it offers the best of independent cinema, national cinema, documentaries, and our Alternative Content exclusive stamp’, said Munir Falah, President & CEO of Cine Colombia through his official Twitter account, when describing Cineco Plus main features. Access to the platform can be done from any iOS and Android device, or through its web version through Windows.

Cineco Plus has a section called ‘Estrenos+’, which renews its contents weekly; another called ‘Exclusivos+’, which includes content on art, music, culture, gigs and documentaries; another segment called ‘Colecciones+’, in which films are linked from multiple perspectives. ‘By buying a collection, you will be acquiring all the films that make it up’, they officially report from the Cineco Plus website. The last section is called ‘Pronto+’, and has previews of premieres that will be available on OTT the following week.

To access the Cineco Plus catalog, a monthly subscription is not required, but each user who enters must rent or buy the available content. The price to buy a film is COP 15 thousand (USD4), and the rental price is valued at COP 8,000 (USD2). Titles to rent are available for 48 hours. Trailers on titles available on the platform are accessible with no need for a previous registration, although, to buy or rent content, a registration is required, where the user must indicate his/her name, surname, ID document and email.

Cineco Plus content can be watched from various devices. Those who enter can choose to watch them from an Android TV with Chromecast (Sony, Philips, Sharp or Xiaomi brands); Samsung TV (Tizen 2.4 (2016)); LG TV (webOS 3.0 (2016)); Airplay (iOS 10 / iPadOS 13), and others.
