Mexican streaming platform Chivas TV is close to announcing a new alliance with an OTT service, such as the one signed with Cinépolis Klic last month, according to Onmilife-Chivas CEO, José Luis Higuera.
The executive also said that while the service is seeking alliances to expand the distribution of its content, “Chivas TV is stronger than ever” and confirmed the service will continue operating.
Meanwhile, Chivas TV is also in negotiations with TV networks, although the executive acknowledged, in an interview with Radio Formula, that it is “practically impossible or very remote” to return to Free-to-air TV.
Last November, Chivas TV announced a streaming deal with Mexican OTT Cinépolis Klic, which is already offering Chivas matches on its platform. Club Deportivo Guadalajara launched Chivas TV in mid-2016 after not renewing its TV contract with Televisa.
