Uruguayan FTA TV channel Canal 10 (Grupo Fontaina – De Feo) and Discovery Latin America & US Hispanic have announced a new agreement, through which the Uruguayan channel will be Discovery Network’s ad sales representative in Uruguay.
‘This agreement gives us the possibility to expand Canal 10’s business portfolio’, reported Daniel Brun, Marketing Manager at Canal 10. ‘For us, as the leading Uruguayan TV channel, it is very important to work with a global and innovative company as it is Discovery, exchange experiences and know-how, in addition to providing new opportunities to the local advertising market’, added the executive.
Martin Hernandez, Advertising Sales Director at Discovery, reported that the ad sales representation agreement with Canal 10 ‘allows us to promote growth and increase Discovery’s brand portfolio presence in Uruguay. We will bring relevant content and innovative initiatives to a new portfolio of clients in a very important market for the region’.
According to the information reported on the specialized website Todo TV News, the partnership is in force since April and includes the representation of Discovery’s pay TV channels, in addition to its digital platforms, for the sale of advertising in Uruguay. The agreement was announced days after AT&T and Discovery announced a merger between Discovery and WarnerMedia to create a new combined company, which is called ‘Warner Bros Discovery’.
