Brazil’s TIM introduces FTTH broadband plans with access to video services

Brazilian telecommunications operator TIM (Telecom Italia) reformulated its fixed broadband offer, which it markets under the TIM Live brand, with the launch of new FTTH packages that include online content from partners such as Fox+, Cartoon Network, Looke and Esporte Interativo.
The new offer is initially available in Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo, but the company plans to extend it to other cities. The download speeds goes from 100 Mbps to 2 gbps. The bundle also includes unlimited local calls (TIM Fone).
“Each offer will have its content package, with very competitive prices,” Fabiano Ferreira, Head of the Residential Unit & PME of TIM Brasil, explained in a statement.
The 150 Mbps broadband speed plan, for example, includes Fox+, Esporte Interativo and Cartoon Network for R$ 160 (USD 46.7). The plan with 500 mbps, for R$ 450 (USD 131), includes the entire content offer. The company continues to market plans through its FTTC network, with speeds of 40 and 60 mbps, in its current coverage areas.
