Bolivian National Tax Service (SIN), together with Economy and Finance Ministry are preparing a regulatory project for foreighn companies that offer services through OTTs in the country to pay taxes, such as Netflix and Amazon Prime Video.
‘We are working on a standard. We hope to conclude it and take it to the Legislative Assembly’, said Mario Cazon, SIN President, and added later that the normative plan ‘could be promulgated by a Supreme Decree’.
According to Cazón, if regulations are established in Bolivia, they will only apply to foreign companies that offer digital services, because those that sell goods abroad are already regulated by the National Customs.
‘Tribute should become a habit, a way of life of all Bolivians as in other parts of the world because the State collects resources to work’, Cazón concluded.
