BBC Wordwide, the comercial arm and a wholly owned subsidiary of the BBC, and DirecTV have announced a deal to offer, for the first time in the region, the most recent drama series from the British company.
DirecTV will premiere the new series “The Collection” and the second season of “Doctor Foster”. Both productions, as well as the first seasons of “Doctor Foster” and “Happy Valley” will be available on OnDirecTV.
The first season of “Doctor Foster” and “Happy Valley” will debut on April 4 and April 18 respectively, while the season premiere “The Collection” will air on May 23. The premiere date of second seasons of “Happy Valley” and “Doctor Foster” have not yet been announced.
“OnDirecTV is the perfect platform to reach viewers who appreciate high quality British dramas, and this agreement between BBC Worldwide and DirecTV gives us the opportunity to bring some of our most recent and successful content to new platforms and audiences in Latin America”, said Anna Gordon, executive VP and Managing Director of BBC Worldwide Latin America/US Hispanic. “We are confident that this and other similar agreements will soon reinforce our company’s presence in all corners of the region”.
