BBC Worldwide closes first US Hispanic deal with “The Musketeers”

BBC Worldwide, the commercial arm and a wholly owned subsidiary of the BBC, announced the sale of the first season of “The Musketeers” to Univision’s UniMás. This is BBC Worldwide’s first deal with a free-to-air US Hispanic network.

“This agreement with Univision Networks & Studios, Inc. marks a milestone in the history of our company and proves that the quality content offering that has always distinguished BBC Worldwide is also attractive for audiences from different markets around the world”, said Anna Gordon, EVP and managing director of BBC Worldwide Latin America/US Hispanic.

This three-season series reached 9.3 million viewers during its premiere on BBC One in the UK, ranking among the 10 highest rated series in UK since 2013. The series was also responsible for the BBC One’s audience growth, surpassing by 13% its closest competitor, ITV.
