AVOD OTT Vix, with free and in-Spanish content, strengthens itself in Mexico

As reported by several specialized websites, the Comscore firm reported that the social distancing period caused by the Coronavirus pandemic increased the use of streaming platforms up to four times, consolidating Mexico and Latin America as the regions with the highest demand. This way, the AVOD OTT VIX – Cine & TV, doubled its users in the last two months, and is considered as one of the most downloaded apps in Mexico.

The AVOD OTT was launched in Mexico at the end of January this year, and offers a catalog with more than 20 thousand hours of content, including movies, series, gigs, and others. As reported, Vix content consumption average in Mexico is two hours a week, and they are consumed mainly on smart TVs, computers and cell phones, and for each user, content is viewed on average on up to three devices.

According to the platform’s web version, other titles that make up the catalog include new releases; international series: realities; children’s content (Vix Kids); classic Mexican movies; and even popular titles from Colombia and Venezuela. In addition, from the website they report that VIX is a platform available in Spanish, and audios or subtitles in Spanish are offered for any content originally produced in English. VIX titles can also be watched on a TV through Chromecast, Apple Store, Google Play, Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, and Roku.
