Atresmedia creates new production unit

The Spanish group Atresmedia announced the launch of Atresmedia Studios, a new exclusive production unit that will focus on creating content for national and international distribution platforms.
Among the objectives of Atresmedia Studios will also be the commercialization and profitability of the brands of the original content catalog of Atresmedia, with the purpose of reaching a new level in the global exploitation of the original productions.
In this way, Atresmedia “will optimize its status as a large content factory in Spanish as well as the exploitation of its great fiction brands beyond conventional sales and distribution systems, also opening the door to new forms of production with the main agents throughout the world,” the company said in a statement.
Ignacio Corrales was appointed new general director of the company, while Sonia Martínez, current director of Fiction at Atresmedia, will be in charge of the Editorial direction. In addition, Nacho Manubens is the new Content director.
