Argentine football club Estudiantes de La Plata launched Estudiantes Play, its new OTT platform, with exclusive contents, available through its official website and on its ‘Estudiantes Play’ official app, available for iOS and Android, both in Argentina and other parts of the world. The technical support for the project’s development was in charge of Poipes.
‘We are very happy to innovate through technology and be pioneers in Argentine football in having this kind of digital platforms. There is no doubt that it will allow us to make communication improvements and bring all our fans closer to the club, no matter where they live, and being able to access Estudiantes Play’s contents at the time they want’, said Juan Sebastian Veron, President at Estudiantes de La Plata. From Poipes they have also expressed themselves on the OTT launch through Jose ‘Pepe’ Amorin, CEO of the company: ‘For Poipes, it is a pride to work with a great football team of the Americas like it is Estudiantes de La Plata. It is a responsibility and a challenge to offer the club’s fans a product at the Estudiantes level’, he said.
Some of the most relevant contents from ‘Estudiantes Play’ will be the team’s trainings, live events broadcasts, interview and coverage of all sports that are played in the club, such as handball, basketball, volleyball, hockey and female football. Also available will be the ‘Heroes de Old Trafford’ documentary, made last year in order to commemorate the 50th anniversary of which Estudiantes won the Copa Intercontinental 1968, against Manchester United.
Estudiantes Play offers a free subscription with restricted content, and a paid subscription with access to all content for AR$ 150 (USD 2.5) and AR$ 120 (USD 2) for members. Biannual and annual subscriptions are also offered for AR$ 799 and AR$ 1499 (USD 13.5 and USD 25), respectively.
