US technology company Apple has taken its first step towards its takeoff in the Pay-TV industry with its first original scripted production. It is the miniseries Vital Signs, which will be produced and starred by the rapper and music producer Dr. Dre.
According to local journal The Hollywood Reporter, all the episodes of Vital Signs’ season would be distributed all together through the OTT Apple Music, disponible en Latinoamérica. It is unknown whether it will also be available in its other online content platforms, Apple TV and iTunes.
The miniseries was defined as semi-autobiographical and the season will feature six half-hour episodes, each focusing on a different emotion of the protagonist. It has been described as a “dark drama with no shortage of violence and sex”. With this, Apple adds to the list of giants who venture into the production of original contents for non-traditional TV.
