Amazon Prime Video continues betting on Mexican original productions

Amazon Prime Video and ‘La Corriente del Golfo’, production company based in Mexico and founded in 2018 by actor and director Diego Luna and Mexican actor, producer and director Gael Garcia Bernal, announced ‘Pan y Circo’, their first joint production, which will be released on August 7th, with seven episodes. The Amazon Original series will focus on the ritual of sharing a meal as a space to talk and gather different points of view.

Talks, moderated by Diego Luna, will bring together politicians, activists and different personalities, to discuss universal interest issues, and will be together with menus prepared by renowned chefs from Mexico. Some of the topics to be discussed during ‘Pan y Circo’ will be gender violence and femicide, climate change, abortion decriminalization, racism and identity, drugs legalization, migration and the Covid-19, which will be developed in a remote episode, which was recorded during the pandemic period, with different virtual interviews. The episodes of the series will be broadcast weekly.
