Alberto Pecegueiro leaves Globosat after 25 years

Roberto Irineu Marinho, President at Globo’s Administrative Boards, and Jorge Nobrega, CEO at Grupo Globo, reported that Alberto Pecegueiro will leave Globosat after 25 years. Pecegueiro will continue in that position until January 2020, and then he will be positioned on the company’s Administrative Boards.

‘It will be a real loss for us to no longer have Alberto on our executive leadership team from January onwards. But we are very happy to continue to have him as a collaborator, in a different position, working as a member of the Administrative Boards for the four joint ventures in which we have partnerships with, besides providing valuable support to our negotiations with our distribution partners’, they said from Globo in an official statement. ‘We would, therefore, like to express our heartfelt thanks to Alberto, for all his dedication and partnership during all these years. And may this new stage, which starts at the beginning of the next year, be as gratifying as the one that has taken us to where we are today’, they added.

Responsible for incorporating into the business the most significant developments arising in the segment – such as the implementation of a TV programming model based on national and international partnerships, investments to bring international channels to Brazil, and the development of the independent production scene in the country, the executive was key to giving Globosat outright leadership in the Brazilian market.
