The first season of Narcos, the original show of the OTT Netflix, will be broadcast for the first time in FTA on august 22 by Univision, the US network focused on Hispanic viewers. In the meantime, the second season will be available on Netflix by September the 2nd.
Narcos tells the story of the growth of drug cartels focused on cocaine smuggling in the late 80’s. The first season has 10 episodes and was shot in Colombia. It stars Wagner Moura, a Brazilian actor in the role of Pablo Escobar.
With this agreement Univision strengthens its relationship with Neflix. In May 2016, Netflix and Univision signed an agreement to co-produce the show El Chapo, based on the life story of Joaquin Guzman, leader of the Mexican cartel of Sinaloa. El Chapo will air in 2017 and in the US it will only be available through Netflix after its exhibition in Univision’s UniMas. In the rest of the world it will be an exclusive content of Netflix.
