Uruguayan pay TV operators are digitized with Nagra and Bold

Eight Uruguayan pay TV operators, associated with the Uruguayan Television Chamber for Subscribers (CUTA), started their pay TV digital operations with Conax Contego, Nagra’s security platform, and Bold MSS as technical support supplier.

Pay TV operators are Consorcio Libertad Digital SRL, Telecable La Paz, Cable Rocha, Cable Melo TV, Cable Lux TV, CablePlus, Carmelo Cable TV and Florida Satelital. Nagra’s offer focuses on a comprehensive security solution, with multi-DRM support, which allows operational efficiency and optimizes costs for DVB, IPTV and OTT clients. The Conax Contego platform, with quick configuration and navigation, can be implemented in several devices such as STBs, tablets, smartphones, Smart TVs and hybrid STBs.

‘We partnered with Nagra once again to provide these small cable companies in different parts of Uruguay with an integral service that allows their customers to access to more and better digital content’, said Ariel Droyeski, Commercial Manager of Bold MSS. He added that the commitment they have with small and medium regional operators “is constant, and we are proud to offer them the best available technology, and to be a link with the main digital security companies in the world, such as Nagra’. Francois Cavalade, Nagra’s Global Channels Director, highlighted Conax Contego platform’s advantages, and Washington Melo, CUTA’s President, expressed that ‘this type of partnerships between companies will allow us to advance in other projects according to the times running for the pay TV distribution industry’, and added that ‘it is the only way for us to be able to stay in the market, that requires investments that many independent companies can not face’.
