During the course of NexTV Series Mexico & Central America 2016, Fidela Navarro, Director of TV Azteca Internacional, said that launching an OTT “is not the priority right now, but to generate the best content and compete on different platforms”, reported El Financiero Newspaper.
According to Navarro, “the priority are the FTA networks” because they have greater scope. In this sense, “the reinvention of Azteca aims to offer better content traveling to other platforms, and not develop one of them”.
As part of its strategy to complement the OTT offer, Azteca has already confirmed that its new series “Entre correr y vivir” will be available -from October 17- in Azteca 7 and in Blim, Televisa’s OTT platform.
In NexTV Series Mexico & Central America, Navarro participated of the panel called “Pay TV Programmers & Operators: How to attract future consumers?” jointly with executives from SKY, Axtel, Discovery, Ultravision, Gigacable, Accedo and Encompass.
