Tigo launches new series on responsible internet use

Tigo made a presentation in Bogota, Colombia, the first chapter of Patchers, Guardianes de Internet, its first original production in the country. It is a five-chapter miniseries that will focus on challenges and opportunities of the digital world. The series is fully developed in Colombia, and all the team, including actors, will be from there. It will tell the story of six young people who will face different situations related to bullying, sexuality, education, cyberbullying, excessive internet use and other issues.

‘Through this content, we have the opportunity to keep in touch with young people and give them explanations about the responsible use and creative part of the internet’, said Marcelo Cataldo, CEO at Tigo Colombia, who added that ‘it is very important for us to be able to reach children and young people through a documentary or video, something natural for them. That is why we went this way’. The executive also reported that ‘the miniseries has five episodes, which we will publish every three weeks and will be on our YouTube channel, on Tigo Colombia and on our contigoconectados.com website, for free’.

The series also aims adults to be willing to listen to children and take part of their world. At the launching event, Tigo announced its commitment to promote the responsible and creative internet use, through Contigo Conectados, social responsibility strategy based on research developed with the Colombian university Eafit, which looks to impact children, teenagers, parents, teachers and caregivers from all over the country.
