Tigo increases residential internet speeds in Costa Rica

Tigo Costa Rica will increase the Internet speed to residential customers of the Greater Metropolitan Area (GAM in Spanish), free of charge and automatically. The process began on September 20 and will continue, progressively, for a period of 45 days.
The company said that customers that are outside the GAM will receive this benefit in the coming months. The change will be informed by an email, which will indicate to each client their new speed. Upon receiving this notification, Tigo recommends disconnecting the cable modem, wait a few seconds and reconnect it.
“In Tigo we are convinced that the habits of our customers continue to evolve, for this reason we will increase the speeds again; we seek to accompany them in this migration to the digital world, guaranteeing them the best experience, “said Leandro Lagos, Residential Business Director.
According to Netflix’s ISP Speed Index for August 20,8, Tigo is the fastest ISP provider in the country, with an average speed of 2.92 mbps.
