Televisa unveils new original series

Televisa held its 2019 Upfront in Mexico where it revealed its new programming lineup to clients, advertisers and agencies, among others. The event also had the participation of the country’s President-elect Andres Manuel López Obrador.
The new content offer will include short and dynamic formats, with a multiplatform approach. Some of the titles are “Fábrica de sueños”, 12 stories developed in short format with 25 episodes; “El ultimo dragón”, based on a text by Spanish writer Arturo Pérez-Reverte; “Doña Flor y sus dos maridos”, a comedy based on the work of Brazilian author Jorge Amado; “Silvia Pinal frente a tí”, a story about the life of Silvia Pinal, the diva of national cinema, and “La reina soy yo”, a story immersed in the world of reggaeton.
Patricio Wills, president of Televisa Studios, also announced new productions with global players. According to the executive, the unit is currently working on preparing co-productions with Sony, Netflix, TNT, Endemol Shine, and Amazon Prime Video.
In addition, Luis Soto, general director of Digital Content, highlighted the creation of new projects developed for digital platforms: “Felizmente”, a production made in blog format; “Jungla”, a reality show of urban survival and “Pueblo Chico”, a mystery and comedy series that questions what happens when a millennial is caught in a telenovela.
