SporTV acquires rights to broadcast Brazilian League of Legends Championship 2017

Pay TV channel SporTV (Globosat) announced that it will broadcast the Brazilian League of Legends Championship (CBLoL), one of the main competitions of e-sports, after signing an agreement with Riot Games, the company that organizes the event.

SporTV will broadcast live 18 dates of the tournament between January and August 2017. The rights acquired by Grupo Globo include pay TV, free-to-air TV and the Internet through the channel’s website. Competition begins on January 21. The first stage will be from January to April, while the second stage will run from June to August.

Globosat’s sports channel already aired –in July last year- the CBLoL Finals, live from Ginásio do Ibirapuera in Sao Paulo. In October, SporTV also showed the League of Legends Finals in Los Angeles, in the United States.
