Sony will launch new series and virtual reality content on Crackle

 

Multinational technology and media company Sony announced that it will expand their original content catalog on its Video On Demand (VOD) free platform Crackle, besides producing special content in virtual reality.

 

According what the company informed the press during its Upfront in New York City, Crackle will premiere new series StartUp and Snatch, based on the eponymous film by Guy Ritchie. The former will feature a behind the scenes in 360º.

 

In addition, a special episode of the anime series SuperMansion will also be done using virtual reality and the company announced it will feature advertising in the same format to accompany this content. It also renewed The Art of More, Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee, Dead Rising: Endgame and Sports Jeopardy.

 

Crackle is available since 2000, previously named Grouper, and was acquired by Sony and renamed in 2007. It has since 2011 mobile apps for iOS and Android and it is present in the offers of digital set-top boxes Roku, Apple TV, X-Box and PlayStation.
