Sky Brasil to respond on AT&T-Time Warner merger this month

Brazilian regulator Anatel gave 15 days to Sky Brasil (which belongs to AT&T) to comment on the effects in the country of the acquisition of Time Warner by AT&T.
Sky had requested in January of this year a 180-day extension to present a response regarding the concentration process. Initially, the deadline was set at July 2 or until the case is resolved in the United States justice, something that finally happened last week. On June 13, Anatel set a deadline of 15 days for Sky to submit its response.
The AT&T-Time Warner deal was approved, with conditions, by the Administrative Council of Economic Defense (Cade) of Brazil in October of last year. According to Anatel, one of the conditions is to keep separate the operations of Sky Brasil. In this way, Anatel’s technical area must analyze if the agreement is contrary to the SeAC Law.
