Servisky acquires Ecuadorian national soccer team rights

The Ecuadorian Soccer Federation (FEF) has signed a deal with Servisky for the rights to broadcast the national team in qualifiers and friendly matches, for the next four years.
The president of the entity, Carlos Villacís, said, “revenues for the FEF will double.” For its part, one of the members of the board told El Comercio “the Federation will have revenues of more than USD 20 million.”
Servisky has been operating in the country since 2007 and owns the streaming service called “El Canal del Fútbol”. Under the new deal, it will commercialize the domestic rights in world cup qualifiers and friendly matches inside and outside the country. FEF’s board members considered that this was the best offer.
Servisky will market the games through pay TV operators. DirecTV has already broadcast two games, against Jamaica and Guatemala. According to El Comercio, the DTH operator acquired friendly matches and home qualifier matches. The other pay TV operators are also in negotiations.
