Record TV to launch streaming platform

Brazilian Grupo Record plans to launch a new streaming platform after the World Cup, called PlayPlus, which will include own and third-party content from companies such as ESPN and the SVOD service PlayKids, according to O Globo newspaper.
The service will be available on PCs and apps for mobile devices and it will also include a download option. The technology platform will be developed by Samba Tech, while Salesforce will provide the CRM. In turn, the agency Y&R will be in charge of the advertising campaign for official launch, according to TelaViva.
The TV station plans to sign new agreements to expand the content offer. In addition, Record executives analyze the possibility of offering licensed contents such as the reality shows “A Fazenda” and “Dancing Brasil”.
The Brazilian broadcaster closed its R7 Play platform at the end of last year, which it had launched in 2015, in association with YouTube, with a monthly subscription of R$ 10.90 (USD 2.9).
