Record launches new streaming service PlayPlus


Brazil’s Record TV today has launched PlayPlus, its new OTT platform, which includes live programming, exclusive shows and third-party content, such as the ESPN channels, FishTV and PlayKids app, among others.
The service offers live streaming of the linear channel, for free, and different packages ranging from R$ 12.90 (USD 3.3) to R$ 32.80 (USD 8.5). The catalog includes sports, movies, series, telenovelas, as well as podcasts and access to radio broadcasts.
This Way, PlayPlus is presented as a content aggregator. “For the first time, people will be able to access content produced by different communication groups on a single platform,” said Antonio Guerreiro, Superintendent of Multiplatform Strategy of Record, according to R7 site.
The platform was developed by Brazilian company Samba Tech. Initially, PlayPlus is available through apps for iOS and Android, and from its website In a next stage, it will launch on the main brands of Smart TVs.
Aline Sordili, Multiplatform Development director of Record TV, will talk about this new initiative in NexTV Series Brasil, the leading conference to be held on November 28 and 29 at the World Trade Center in São Paulo. Fernando Collaço, Content Manager of PlayKids, will also participate in the event.
