Puebla denies acquisition by TV Azteca

Mexican soccer team Puebla denied media reports that it was acquired by TV Azteca. In a statement, Puebla said that TV Azteca did not buy the team but agreed to pay an advance for the broadcast rights, because the economic situation of the team “is complicated.”

“About the rumors that have been circulating in some media, Club Puebla wishes to inform that those versions are not true. In view of this situation, we want to clarify that our relationship with TV Azteca, a company with which we have an excellent relationship, relies on the exclusivity of the television broadcasting rights of the team,” added the sports institution.

Under this agreement, two executive from Salinas Group have joined the team: Pablo Boy, in the administrative area and Angel Sosa, in the sports area.
