Pongalo launches first original film

Pongalo announced the launch of “Girl Flu”, its first original film. It will be offered in both Spanish and English via the Pongalo app – for 5.99 a month – and all of its distribution platforms.
The film was directed by Dorie Barton, making her directorial debut, and stars Katee Sackhoff (Battlestar Gallactica, Longmire), Jeremy Sisto (Law and Order, Six feet under), Jade Pettyjohn (School of Rock-TV) and Judy Reyes (Scrubs). Free Chicken Films’ David K. Wilson produced and Pongalo founder and CEO Rich Hull and Paul Schiff are executive producers.
The movie premiered in 2016 at the Los Angeles Film Festival. It the film tells the story of a young girl (Pettyjohn) who gets her first period, triggering a crisis for her mother (Sackhoff) .
in addition to Girl Flu, Pongalo will premiere over 250 hours of new telenovelas and series in its “Premieres & Exclusives” segment this year, including Caracol’s “Los Hombres Tambien Lloran” and “Rafael Orozco El Idolo”, and RCTV’s “Que Buena Se Puso Lola” and “Amor Infiel”.
