Personal to launch web series platform

Argentina’s mobile operator Personal announced that it will launch in May the platform Personal Play Webseries, which will offer short- format content, in partnership with national and international producers and independent filmmakers.
The service will offer for a weekly subscription an initial catalog with 50 webseries that will add new content every week. By the end of 2018, the platform will have more than 150 series and during 2019, a similar number will be added, the company said in a release. Data consumption will be reimbursed.
Personal Play webseries will also serve as an exhibition window for producers and directors who present their works to the competitions organized by the National Institute of Cinema and Audiovisual Arts (Incaa). The service was developed jointly with the Argentina’s agency Libero Media.
In this way, the mobile operator drives video consumption, which currently accounts for 50% of data traffic, the company said. This was helped by the deployment of the 4G network, which allows a high-speed browsing experience.
