Paramount Channel acquires rights to Netflix’s “House of Cards”, “Orange Is the New Black”

Paramount Channel (Viacom) Latin America has secured the pay TV rights to Netflix’s award-winning shows “House of Cards” and “Orange is the New Black”. This way, both production will arrive for the first time to pay TV.

“House of Cards” will premiere on Paramount Channel in March. The show starring Kevin Spacey and Robin Wright has already been renewed for a fifth season on Netflix.

Created and produced by Jenji Kohan in association with Lionsgate TV, “Orange is the New Black” is a comedy-drama based on the bestselling memoir by Piper Kerman. The series – starring Taylor Schilling and Laura Prepon – will be available on Paramount Channel in April. This year, Netflix will debut the fifth season.

In 2017, Paramount Channel will offer more than 1,200 hours of content to its audience of 25 million homes in Latin America.
