HBO Latin America launched the new version of its streaming platform HBO GO in Brazil. This update is the first step to start offering HBO GO as a subscription service, as it is happening in Mexico and Colombia.
Currently, the platform is available as TV Everywhere service, at no additional cost to subscribers of the Premium packs HBO/MAX in pay TV operations. However, in Mexico and Colombia HBO is offering HBO GO as a monthly subscription service, in partnership with operators, in this case Dish Mexico and Tigo Une in Colombia. HBO has already updated the platform in Argentina and Uruguay.
The new version is available from September 28 and offers a completely revamped interface that provides users faster, simple and dynamic access to content.
“The growth of VOD platforms in Brazil has been impressive, with 82% of Brazilians consuming content; and the growth will continue. This new version of HBO GO gives users the possibility to enjoy the exclusive HBO content whenever and wherever, with a practical and friendly navigation”, said Francisco L. Smith, EVP, Distribution and Media development at HBO Latin America.
