Netflix signs megadeal with TV producer Ryan Murphy

Ryan Murphy, the prolific producer behind “American Horror Story” and “American Crime Story” has entered into a multi-year deal to produce new series and films exclusively at Netflix, starting July 1, 2018. According to Variety, the deal is valued at USD250 million-USD300 million.
This way, Murphy will exit 20th Century Fox Television, his longtime studio home. This move comes after Disney announced the purchase of several 21st century fox assets, including the film studio and the international pay TV channels.
Ryan Murphy’s new original series, “Ratched and The Politician”, will premiere globally on Netflix. Murphy also oversees production on the following series: “American Crime Story”, “American Horror Story”, “Feud”, “9-1-1” and the upcoming “Pose”, Netflix said in a press release.
Murphy also created the TV drama “Nip/Tuck”, which won the Golden Globe for Best Television Series – Drama in 2005, the acclaimed musical series “Glee” and most recently, the Emmy Award-nominated anthology series “Feud”.
