Netflix chose Mexico as the headquarter for its Latin American operations . The company is developing more than 50 projects in that country, which include original content and co-productions for this year and 2020.
Ted Sarandos, Netflix’s Content Executive Director, said that ‘Mexico’s wealth of talent in front and behind cameras was the key for the decision we made four years ago, when we began our original production strategy internationally. Since then, we have continued to expand our investment and providing a platform for Mexican talent to continue being recognized around the world’.
As part of the announced projects stands out musical comedies, feature films, films, comedies and short films, which are in different stages of development. Netflix will also develop original Mexican series and previously announced projects, which will begin this year.
