Nat Geo Kids acquires rights to animated series “Pablo”

Nat Geo Kids Latin America announced that it has acquired “Pablo”, the first kids’ series featuring a main character with autism spectrum disorder. It will be available in the region during April in conjunction with World Autism Awareness Day.
The company made the announcement of this new acquisition during Kidscreen 2018. “Pablo is a unique opportunity to promote diversity and to spread the message to younger audiences about accepting uniqueness,” said Carmen Larios, Senior VP of content strategy for National Geographic Partners in Latin America.
The series is written in collaboration with young people with autism. To give Pablo an authentic voice, a child from Latin America with autism spectrum disorder will participate. “Pablo” is a production of Paper Owl Films for CBeebies and RTÉJr., in association with Kavaleer Productions and Ingenious with funds from Northern Ireland Screen and BAI and with executive production and distributed by Cake. It will be released in Latin America on TV and the Nat Geo Kids app. In addition, the second season has already been confirmed.
