Movistar Play to live stream Peru’s qualifiers for the 2022 Qatar World Cup

Movistar announced that it will broadcast on pay TV and through its streaming platform Movistar Play, Peru’s matches at home in the qualifiers for the 2022 Qatar World Cup, and all of its friendly matches. The coverage will be available through Movistar Deportes channel.

In this way, we will provide the best sports experience to our clients, reaffirming our unconditional support for Peruvian soccer,” said Luis Acuña, Marketing Director of Movistar.
Telefónica launched Movistar Play in Peru in July 2017. According to data provided by the company, in April of this year, the platform already had 580,000 users and the goal is to reach one million by the end of 2018. In addition, Movistar TV is the main pay TV operator of the Peruvian market. At the end of Q118, it reached 1.4 million subscribers, according to Telefónica’s quarterly report.
